Box Score The William Jewell College women's soccer team fell on the road in double-overtime to Southern Indiana on Friday evening in Evansville, Ind., in Great Lakes Valley Conference action, 3-2.
Southern Indiana's McKinsey Durham sent the game into overtime with her goal in the 89th minute, tying the contest up at 2-2. After a scoreless first overtime, Haley Rheinlander put in the winning goal for the Screaming Eagles off a double assist in the 106th minute to clinch the victory.
Jewell falls to 5-3-3 overall, 4-3-2 in GLVC play on the season, while USI improves to 3-6-2, Â 2-5-2 in conference action with the win.
Jade Gifford opened up the scoring for the Cards in the contest with her third goal of the season to stake Jewell to the early 1-0 lead.
Jewell's lead would remain until the 68th minute of play where Rheinlander scored just in front of the goal as the Screaming Eagles tied the match up. Â
Aspen Hawkins followed shortly after off the assist from
Gabby Brooks to give the Cardinals their second lead of the contest at the 79:24 mark.
Durham then sent in the game tying goal in the 89th minute before the game winning goal in the second overtime.Â
Jordan Lewis finished the contest with 10 saves for the Cards in goal, while Courtney Loftland  had three saves in 106 minutes of action between the pipes.
Jewell remains on the road on Sunday in GLVC play as the Cards travel to Springfield, Ill., to take on University of Illinois-Springfield.  Kickoff is slated for 12:00 p.m.
