Box Score The William Jewell College men's soccer team was shut out 2-0 against Missouri S&T at Greene Stadium in Great Lakes Valley Conference action on Friday afternoon. Jewell falls to 3-10-3 overall and 2-8-3 in the GLVC. The Miners improve to 7-6-2 overall and 6-5-2 in the GLVC.
The Miners got on the board in the 28th minute on a goal from Martin Klevjer. S&T would then hold on for a 1-0 halftime lead.
The Miners then added another goal at the 53:36 mark when David Murphy knocked home a shot from the right wing to produce the 2-0 winning margin.
S&T outshot Jewell 13-11 including 9-3 in shots on goal. The Cards held a 7-5 advantage on corner kicks.
Aaron Froehlich led Jewell with four shots including one on goal.
Shane Van Hooser made 7 saves in 90 minutes played in goal for the Cardinals.
William Jewell will travel to Springfield, Mo., on Sunday to take on Drury University at 2:30 p.m.
