The William Jewell College men's soccer team closed out their 2014 season with a 1-0 loss in Great Lakes Valley Conference play against Rockhurst University. Jewell ends the season at 3-12-3 and 2-9-3 in GLVC play while Rockhurst improves to 9-5-2 overall and 9-4-2 in the GLVC.
Drew Douglas scored his first goal of the season for the Hawks at the 13 minute mark off an assist from Claudio Romano to put Rockhurst up 1-0.
Rockhurst would dominate possession in the first half and would go into halftime up 1-0.
Jewell would then come out and play aggressively in the second half and outshot the Hawks 9-7 in the second frame but could not put one in the goal.
For the game Rockhurst outshot Jewell 17-2 including a 5-2 advantage in shots on goal.
Shane Van Hooser logged all 90 minutes for the Cards and stopped four shots.
