The William Jewell College women's soccer team had their 2014 season come to an end with a 3-1 loss in Great Lakes Valley Conference play against Rockhurst University on Wednesday evening.  Jewell ends the season at 6-8-3 and 5-8-2 in GLVC play while Rockhurst improves to 14-2-2 overall and 11-2-2 in the GLVC.

The Hawks would get on the board at the 5:10 mark as Julia Bartolacci scored her fourth goal of the year to give Rockhurst a 1-0 lead.  Five minutes later Maria Merlo found the back of the net for her third goal of the year. 

Rockhurst controlled possession for most of the first half as they outshot the Cards 15-3 and led 2-0 at halftime.   

Jewell came out and scored at the 60:04 mark when Gabby Brooks found Aspen Hawkins who knocked in her third goal of the year. 

Rockhurst would answer back with a goal by GLVC player of the week Taylor Skala who put home goal number 16 on the season for the Hawks. 

For the game Rockhurst outshot Jewell 28-2 including a 16-3 advantage in shots on goal. 

Alex Dressman made 13 saves in 90 minutes for Jewell.
