A trio of dominating doubles wins and an equally impressive performance in singles action handed the William Jewell College men's tennis program its fourth victory of the spring against former Heart of American Conference rival Baker University on Friday afternoon, 9-0.
Bryan Thomas and
Michael Rawat opened up the day with a win in doubles action against Michael Draper and Gavin Webster, 8-3, at the No. 1 doubles slot.
Jimmy Hunter and
Michael Wiskirchen followed with an 8-1 victory, while
Max Cooper and
Isaac Hamilton teamed up for an 8-2 win.
In the No. 1 slot, Thomas picked up his third singles victory of the season Draper, 7-6, 7-5.
Hunter picked up his second singles win in the No. 2 slot over Zach Aldrich in a straight-set final, 6-0, 6-0.
Cooper, Rawat, and AJ Naaep, each tallied wins in straight sets over their respective Baker opponents.Â
Dean Pinhas went three sets for his win at No. 5 singles.Â
The Cardinals continue with the non-conference portion of their schedule by traveling to Emporia State University on Monday, March 24, at 5:30 p.m., at the Emporia Kansas High School Tennis Complex.
