The William Jewell College women's soccer team got by Maryville University on Friday afternoon 1-0 in Great Lakes Valley Conference action in St. Louis, Mo. 

Gabby Brooks took a pass from Lea Maxwell and sent it in from 18 yards out at the 77:49 mark for the game winning goal. 

The Cardinals improve to 2-1-3 overall and 2-1-2 in GLVC play and will take on University of Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday at 12:00 p.m.   

The Cards were outshot 10-4 and 5-2 in shots on goal and Maryville also led 6-2 in corner kicks. 

Goalkeeper Jordan Lewis and had five saves in the win.
