Ida Nyman has been named the PNC Great Lakes Valley Conference Athlete of the Week in the sport of women's swimming and diving, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Nyman won the 400 individual medley (4:42.08) and 200 backstroke against Saint Louis University and Bellarmine this past weekend. She finished second in the 200 IM (2:15.07) and 100 backstroke (1:01.65) against SLU, but won those events against the Knights. She was also a member of both the 200 medley (1:55.55) and 400 medley relay (4:13.05) teams that earned victories over Bellarmine.
This is the Norrkoping, Sweden, native's first career award and marks the third consecutive conference accolade for the Jewell women's team as
Alex Millhuff was honored last week and
Maggie Metz was recognized just before the holidays on Dec. 23.
