The William Jewell College softball team opened their 2015 season with a pair of wins on Friday in Bentonville, Ark. The Cards defeated Oklahoma Panhandle 13-3 in game one followed by a 6-2 victory over Ouchita Baptist.
Against Oklahoma Panhandle, Jewell exploded for six runs in the first.
Faith Song not only earned the win on the mound but also went 3-4 with a homer.
Kelsey Teneycke went 2-4 with two doubles and three RBI's.
In game two against Ouchita Baptist,
Nona Pauline threw a complete game striking out 8. Pauline also went 2-3 at the plate and Song hit her second home run of the day in the nightcap.
Jewell will return to the diamond tomorrow taking on University of Central Missouri at 11:00 a.m., followed by a match up against Harding University at 3:00 p.m.
