Illinois-Springfield bested the William Jewell College men's tennis team 9-0 on Sunday afternoon at Clayview Country Club.

The men came out of doubles down three matches  to one losing hard fought battles, 8-6, 8-6 and 8-5 at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 doubles respectively.

In singles action, the Prairie Stars used the momentum gained from singles play to clinch the match victory.  Senior Jimmy Hunter lost a hard fought battle 6-4, 7-6 at No. 3 singles while Junior Dean Pinhas fell 8-6 at No. 4 singles. 

Jewell returns to action on Saturday, March 1 against Cowley County Community College.  The match begins at 1:00 p.m. at Clayview Country Club.
