The William Jewell College men's tennis team snapped a four match losing streak and defeated Christian Brothers University on Tuesday afternoon in Memphis, Tenn.
Jewell improves its overall mark to 3-6, while Christian Brothers falls to 1-2.
The Cardinals came out with early momentum as
Michael Rawat returned from injury to partner with
Dean Pinhas for an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles. Senior
Jimmy Hunter and sophomore
Amery Clews followed that with a convincing 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles. Junior
Isaac Hamilton and first-year player Marc Gärtner rallied for a 9-8 win to put Jewell up 3-0 after doubles play.
The Cards then won five of six singles matches with victories coming from Clews, Hunter, Pinhas, Hamilton and
AJ Naanep.
The Cardinals will continue their Spring Break trip as they travel to Searcy, Ark., to take on Harding University on Wednesday.
