The William Jewell College men's tennis team went 1-2 in Nebraska over the weekend in non-conference matches.
The Cardinals (3-4) suffered an 8-1 setback against Nebraska Kearney Friday, but came back to pick up an 8-1 win over Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday. The Cardinals then fell to Baker University 7-2 Saturday afternoon.Â
Against Nebraska Kearney, Jewell picked up a win at No. 1 singles from
Amery Clews in three sets. Â
The Cardinals won their eighth straight over Nebraska Wesleyan with a dominating 8-1 victory. Against Baker Jewell's only two wins came from sophomores Marc Gartner and
Brian Wohlers at No.2 and No. 6 singles respectively.
Jewell will travel to Sioux Falls, S.D. to face North Dakota University and South Dakota State University next weekend.
