Box Score 2 The William Jewell College women's tennis team finished out its weekend in South Dakota with a disappointing loss to University of North Dakota 7-0 on Saturday.
North Dakota Dominated doubles play only giving up three games total in the three matches.
In singles play the Cardinals were swept 6-0. The closest match for Jewell was at No. 4 and No. 6 singles where
Claire Mackay fell 6-4, 6-2 and
Hannah Waine dropped a 6-3, 6-4 decision.
On their first day of their road trip, the Cardinals matched up against the Jackrabbits of South Dakota State University and fell 7-0.
In doubles the No. 2 team of
Lisanne Visseren and
Sabrine Navarro lost a tough 6-4 battle. South Dakota State won handily and No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
Visseren, a freshman from the Netherlands, was the only close singles match as she was bested 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 singles. The Jackrabbits swept the rest of the singles matches in dominating fashion.
The Cardinals return home to face Northwest Missouri State on Wednesday, March 2 at 3:00 p.m.
