The William Jewell College men's tennis team lost their sixth straight match on Friday falling 9-0 to Harding University. Jewell drops to 3-9 overall while Harding improves to 4-1 on the year.
The Bison got off to a fast start with wins over
Brian Wohlers and Marco Martinez 8-0 at No. 3 doubles and an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles over
Amery Clews and
Jacob Plant.
The only contested match of the afternoon came at No. 1 doubles where Harding fought off two match points to come back and defeat Jewell's No. 1 tandem of
Isaac Hamilton and
Caul Pearson 9-7.
The Bison swept the Cardinals in singles, winning all six matches in straight sets, including five 6-0 sets.
The Cardinals will return to action on Saturday against McKendree University at 11:00 a.m. at Clayview Country Club.
