The William Jewell College men's tennis team dropped their fifth straight on Saturday 8-1 to visiting Newman University.
The Cardinals came out of doubles down 2-1 as Jewell's tandem of
Amery Clews and
Jacob Plant picked up an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles.
In singles play, Jewell lost two matches in third set tiebreaks as
Isaac Hamilton and
Caul Pearson fell at No. 3 and No. 4 respectively. The Jets were able to sweep the rest of the matches in straight sets.
Jewell will play host to Harding University on Friday, March 11 at 2:00 p.m.
