The William Jewell College men's tennis team wrapped up its 2016 season on Saturday with a 9-0 loss to the Tritons of University of Missouri-St. Louis.
With the loss, Jewell ends the season with a 5-19 overall record and 1-4 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
In doubles, UMSL started things off with dominating 8-2 victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles respectively. Jewell lost 8-3 at No. 1 doubles which gave the Tritons a 3-0 lead heading into singles play.
In singles play, The Cardinals were swept in all six matches in straight sets. Marc Gartner had the best showing at No. 1, dropping a 6-1, 7-5 decision to Fabian Frank.
