The William Jewell women's soccer team dropped to 1-2-1 overall and 1-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference after falling to Wisconsin-Parkside 4-2 on Sunday afternoon at Greene Stadium.
The Rangers came out quickly taking a 1-0 lead on a goal from Lexi Porter in just the minute. However, Jewell battled back as senior
Natalie Owens scored her second goal of the season in the 11
th minute off an assist from
Lexi Pommer.
In the 37
th minute
Emily Monroe broke away and found
Madilyn Payne on the right side for a goal to put the Cardinals up 2-1 at the intermission.
After the break the Rangers offense took over as they scored goals in the 50
th, 51
st, and 62
nd minute to pull out the 4-2 victory.
The Cardinals were outshot 20-8 and 12-2 in shots on goal.
Gracie Schweinfurth led Jewell with two shots.
Junior
Jordan Lewis posted seven saves.
The Cardinals will take a break from GLVC play for their final non-conference matchup of the year as they play host to Missouri Southern on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m.
