Cards Fall 1-0 on Senior Night

The William Jewell College women's soccer team hosted University of Southern Indiana this evening in Great Lakes Valley Conference action at Greene Stadium.  The game also marked senior night as the Cardinals honored Jordan Lewis, Aspen Hawkins, Lexi Pommer, and Mackenzie Giegling.  The Cardinals gave up an early second half goal to fall to the Screaming Eagles 1-0.  The loss drops the Cardinals to 6-5-2 overall and 4-4-2 in league play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • 45:51 Chelsea Morris scored for the Screaming Eagles off an assist from Haley Rheinlander which proved to be the only goal of the contest.
     
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Southern Indiana out shot the Cardinals 10-6 and led 6-5 in shots on goal.   
LEADERS OF THE FLIGHT
  • Hawkins led Jewell with two shots on the evening.
IN GOAL
  • Senior goalie Jordan Lewis moved to 6-4-2 on the season and recorded 6 saves. 
YOU SHOULD NOTE
  • This marks Jewell's second home loss of the season.

Jewell will continue GLVC play on Sunday, October 15 as they host Bellarmine University at 12:00 p.m.
