Box Score The William Jewell College men's tennis team concluded the fall portion of their match schedule on Tuesday dropping a 9-0 decision to Emporia State University in Emporia, Kan. The loss evens the Cardinals record at 1-1 while Emporia improves to 6-1 overall.
The Hornets swept doubles play winning 8-1, 8-2 and 8-1 at No.1, No.2 and No. 3 respectively.
Sophomore
Bjorn Myers lost a tough 7-6, 5-2 (ret) match at No.1 singles while fellow sophomore
Hayden Fulk fell 6-3, 6-3 at No. 4.
Caul Pearson,
Cutter Sanders, Marco Martinez and Pedro Uno all lost in straight sets. Uno played his final match as a Cardinal as he will graduate in December.
The Cardinals will open the 2018 spring season with an exhibition match against University of Missouri-Kansas City on January 26.
