Rangers Dominate Cardinals, 10-1

The William Jewell College men's soccer team suffered a 10-1 defeat at the hands of Wisconsin-Parkside this afternoon in Great Lakes Valley Conference action in Kenosha, Wisc.  Jewell falls to 3-13 overall and 1-12 in league play.  

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • 1:51-Lexi Prpa scored the first of his game high three goals to put the Rangers up 1-0.
  • 4:01-Prpa scored again this time from 13 yards out and Parkside lead 2-0.
  • 7:54-Prpa put the Rangers up 3-0 off a crossing pass from 15 yards out.
  • 15:23-Austin Stahira scored off a penalty kick and Jewell trailed 4-0.
  • 23:24 Teddy Gifford scored the Cardinals' only goal off an assist from Charlie Parrish.
  • 39:06-Joe Elwell knocked in a goal for the Rangers which put them up 5-1 at halftime.
  • 58:44-Jorge Garcia headed in a goal from six yards out to increase the Parkside lead to 6-1.
  • 79:06-Max Matlawski added to the Parkside totals drilling home a goal from 17 yards out and the Rangers led 7-1.
  • 81:06-Nate Kitchell knocked in another penalty kick that increased the Parkside lead to 8-1.
  • 84:50-Burnim Husseini knocked in a free kick from 30 yards out that put the Rangers up 9-1.
  • 87:53-Garcia scored the 10th and final goal for Parkside from 18 yards out.  
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • The Rangers out shot the Cardinals 22-13 and led 10-1 in shots on goal. 
LEADERS OF THE FLIGHT
  • Parrish lead the Cards with four shots while Gifford had three plus a goal.    
     
IN GOAL
  • Goalie Nick Cooper made six saves in 90 minutes of play.    
UP NEXT
Jewell will return home to close out the 2017 regular season when they host Quincy University on Wednesday, October 25.  First kick is set for 7:30 p.m.
