Box Score The William Jewell College men's tennis team opened their 2017-18 dual schedule with a 7-2 win over Baker University on Saturday afternoon at Clayview Country Club in the team's Breast Cancer Awareness match.
Jewell is now 1-0 overall while Baker falls to 0-1 with the loss.
The Cardinals opened the match with two wins in doubles to go up 2-1 heading to singles. Jewell then won five of the six singles matches to close out the victory.
On the day,
Bjorn Myers and
Cutter Sanders each went 2-0 for the Cardinals.
The Cardinals will close out the fall season with a trip to Emporia, Kan., where they will take on Emporia State University on Tuesday, October 17. First-serve is set for 3:00 p.m.
