Men's Soccer Edged 3-2 By Truman State

The William Jewell College men's soccer team scored two second half goals but fell 3-2 to Truman State University on Friday afternoon in Kirksville, Mo.  The Cards fall to 1-3 overall and 0-3 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • 58:21 Trailing 3-0 Jewell got on the board when Drew Dempsey scored off a pass from Sam Gettings.
  • 76:48 Teddy Gifford converted on a penalty kick which produced the 3-2 final score.  
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • The Bulldogs outshot the Cards 15-10 and led 3-2 in shots on goal. 
     
LEADERS OF THE FLIGHT IN GOAL
  • Nick Cooper started the game and gave up three goals while stopping one.
  • Quinn Ruggeri played the second half and made four saves.   
     
YOU SHOULD NOTE
  • The Cards are 9th in the league in goals scored.
UP NEXT
The Cardinals will travel to Rockhurst University next Friday, September 22 for a GLVC matchup with the Hawks at 7:30 p.m.
