The William Jewell College men's tennis team were defeated 8-1 on Sunday by University of Illinois-Springfield in Springfield, Ill. 
 
How It Happened
The Prairie Stars took two of three doubles matches from the Cards with the lone Jewell highlight of the No. 1 Jewell tandem of Bjorn Myers and Cutter Sanders downing Sam Clarke and Tommy Martinez 9-8.  Clarke and Martinez are currently ranked No. 23 in doubles in the latest International Tennis Association national rankings. 

UIS swept all six singles matches in straight sets to send the Cards to their sixth straight loss. 

What's Next
The Cardinals will return to the friendly confines of Clayview Country Club on Saturday when they host McKendree University.  First serve is set for 2:00 p.m.
