The William Jewell College men's tennis was shut out 9-0 today by No. 20 Drury University in Great Lakes Valley Conference action in Springfield, Mo.
How It Happened
The Panthers took a 3-0 lead after doubles with the closest contest coming at No. 1 doubles where the tandem of
Bjorn Myers and
Cutter Sanders lost a tough 8-6 battle.
Drury took five of the six singles matches in straight sets. Senior
Brian Wohlers dropped his first set 6-2 at No. 5 singles before winning his second set 7-5 to force a third set super tiebreaker. Wohlers saved four match points but eventually fell 14-12 in the deciding set.
What's Next
The Cardinals will travel to Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Mo., on Monday April 9 for their final non-conference match of the season. First-serve is set for 3:30 p.m.
