LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell women's soccer team fell in their Great Lakes Valley Conference opener on Sunday afternoon at Greene Stadium, 1-0 to Southwest Baptist. The Cardinals drop to 0-3-1 on the season and 0-1 in GLVC play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Cardinals got five early shots in the opening 38 minutes but were rejected each time.
• Southwest Baptist's Raegan Edwards put the Bearcats on top in the 40th minute. 
• Jewell put together seven more shots in the second half but were unable to score. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Jewell finished with 13 shots, led by three from Alex Johnson, including two on goal. 
• Kaylie Kappelmann finished with eight saves.
