LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell men's soccer team is returns home for a brief two game home stand this week as they host McKendree and Missouri-St. Louis.

CARDINAL NOTES
  • Jewell is looking to snap a four game skid this week as they host McKendree and UMSL. 
  • The Cardinal offense has slowed in the last two weeks, down to less than 10 shots per game, with just one goal against Missouri S&T. Three players, Carson Lee, Cole Bulgren and Ethan Nichols have double-digit shots on the year, while Walker Bond has nine. 
  • Eli Gratz continues to hold down the goal, now up to 48 saves on the season, tops in the GLVC while his .774 save percentage is second. The sophomore has surpassed the 100-save milestone and sits fourth in the NCAA era with 108 total, while his 48 this fall is currently No. 9 in a single season. 

ABOUT McKENDREE
  • The Bearcats enter Friday's game sitting at 2-2-3 on the season, 2-2-1 in conference action, after winning 1-0 against Illinois Springfield last Sunday. 
  • McKendree sits just above Jewell with 9.00 shots per game, 12th in the GLVC, led by James Stone's 16. The senior from England also leads the team and is tied for second in the league with five goals this season. 
  • Five players have done most of the offensive damage with Stone and Gonzalo Correa combine for seven goals while Eddie DAvis and Philipp Schmidt each have two assists and a score. 
  • Alvaro Crotazar has played all 709 minutes in goal for McKendree and has 34 saves, second in the GLVC, with a .739 save percentage.

ABOUT UMSL
  •  Missouri-St. Louis is coming off a loss to Quincy last weekend but won their two previous games to come in at 3-4 on the season, 2-3 in GLVC play. 
  • The Tritons are tied with Jewell for 13th in the conference with 8.86 shots per game and average 1.29 goals per outing. 
  • Two players, Garrett Bass and Arman Kovac, have scored twice, while five others have one goal a piece. 
  • Leo Sowa leads the team with 12 shots while Tommy Naumann has 11. 
  • Jordan Hurt has spent all but one game in goal for UMSL and has a .630 save percentage. 
  • Dan King is one of the more veteran coaches in the GLVC, now in his 21st season. He owns a record of 154-162-37 and was the 2002 GLVC Coach of the Year.
