Women's Soccer Concludes 2022 Season with Scoreless Draw at Truman

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The William Jewell women's soccer team closed out the 2022 season on Sunday afternoon at Truman State where they played to a scoreless draw. The Cardinals finish the season at 1-13-2 overall and 0-10-2 in conference play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Jewell put the pressure on early taking four shots by three different players in the first 15 minutes but couldn't connect.
  • In the second half, Kim Munoz and Riley Frasure-Smith each put a shot on target but the Bulldog keeper kept Jewell of the board while Cardinal keeper Emily glassman did the same at the other end. 

KEY STATS
  • Munoz collected five shots with four on goal to lead the Cardinals while Kate Lawrence added three shots and Frasure-Smith two. 
  • Glassman picked up four saves. 

The Cardinals will say goodbye to six seniors, Corrine Hughes, Paige Liston, Carolyn Schneck, Caroline Staebell, Jayme Coon and Katie Wagenheim but will return a young for the 2023 season.
