LIBERTY, Mo. - The 2022 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom, and includes five William Jewell student-athletes. Three men,
Walker Bond,
Ethan Nichols and
Sam Wambold join two women,
Clara Fronabarger and
Kate Lawrence on the Academic All-District team. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.
To be eligible student-athletes, must hold at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average and have been at their respective institutions for a minimum of one year in residence, with the exception of graduate transfers, while also playing a role in at least 50% of the team's competitions.
The trio from the men's program combined to appear in more than 2,700 minutes, contributing eight goals, four assists and 20 total points, nearly half of the team's total. Thirty-one student-athletes from the GLVC made the list with Wambold also earning All-GLVC Third Team honors on the field.
On the women's side, Lawrence appeared in all 16 games and nearly 1,200 minutes, handing out three assists. Fronabarger was hindered by injury and played in only eight games but scored two goals and had one assist during that time.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
