SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The William Jewell women's basketball team wrapped up the 2022 season on Monday night at Drury University, 97-51, in the opening round of the GLVC Tournament. Jewell finishes the season 1-25 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cardinals shot just 17% in the opening quarter falling being 30-4 after 10 minutes. From there, the Cardinals shot well, despite the lopsided score. In the second frame, Jewell connected on 4-of-6 from the floor and 6-of-8 from the free throw line.
- The Cardinals played even in the fourth quarter, scoring 17 points, led by seven from Libby Arnold but the damage was done early, as the Panthers cruised to a 97-51 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Skyler Boylan paced the Cardinals with 14 points on 5-of-5 from the field.
- Katie Knock pulled down a team high seven rebounds.
- In total, the Cardinals shot 46% from the floor with 30 points in the paint.
The Cardinals will lose just one player,
Lea Finn, to graduation this spring and have signed six for 2022-2023.
