The William Jewell women's soccer team looks to get back in the win column this weekend as they travel to Missouri-St. Louis before hosting Missouri S&T on Sunday.
Series History
Jewell and UMSL have been competitive over the years, with the Tritons leading the series 6-4-1 but have won three straight. Last year UMSL scored in the ninth minute on a deflection and held on.

The Cardinals lead the series with Missouri S&T 6-5-1 but are looking for their first win since 2018. Last season, the Miners scored four early goals on their way to a 5-0 win.

Let's Recap
The Cardinals snapped a skid of three straight shuouts but narrowly missed an opportunity at another win last weekend as Southwest Baptist scored in the 88th minute to tie the match at three.

Cardinal Notes
  • Riley Frasure-Smith scored the first two goals of her career on Sunday and posted the second multi-goal game of the season, joining Corrine Hughes, and the 31st of the NCAA era.
  • Kate Lawrence had the assist on both of Frasure-Smith's goals and put together the 19th multi-assist game by a Cardinal in the NCAA era.
  • Hughes converted a penalty kick in the second half on Sunday to give her five goals on the season, pushing her to the top of the GLVC and moving into a tie for eighth in single season goals in the NCAA era.
  • Katie Wagenheim enters the week fifth in the GLVC with 4.33 saves per game with 26 total while Taylor Thompson has added 24.
50 Years of Women's Varsity Sports
The 2022-2023 academic year marks the 50th anniversary of Title IX and the 50th year of women's varsity sports of the William Jewell campus. The five original teams included basketball, volleyball, swimming, tennis and field hockey while women's soccer joined the department in 1990. Jewell will be celebrating the growth and accomplishments of women's athletics throughout the year, headlined by an all-women's Hall of Fame class, to be inducted on Friday which includes the 2010 women's soccer team.
