SMITHVILLE, Mo. - The William Jewell men's golf team hosted the third annual Kansas City Cup on Monday and Tuesday at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex. The Cardinals posted a team score of 925 to tie for second place with crosstown rival Rockhurst. 

"A" LINEUP

• Freshman Bryson Oots led the Cardinals with a score of 228 to place fifth, for the first top-5 finish of his young career while posting one of the four eagles in the tournament. 
• Fredrik Hersley led all players with 10 birdies to post a 229 and tie for sixth place, just behind Oots. 
• Mitchell Arensberg followed Hersley with nine birdies, second most among the field, to put up a score of 234 in his first collegiate event. 
• Stephen Radley gave Jewell four in the top-15 by finishing with a 236, and tying his season low with a 75 in round two to go with six birdies. 
• Martin Stegberg rounded out the lineup at 244 to place 30th. 

"B" LINEUP

• Scotty Jolly led the second flight of Cardinals with a 21st place finish at 238 with six birdies. 
• Timmy Hamilton also posted six birdies to finish at 245, good for 31st place, followed by Drew Munson at 36th with a score of 251. 
• Victor Cascio shot a 253 while Brenden Day finished out the flight at 254. 

PLAYING AS INDIVIDUALS

• Evan HIghfill led the Cardinal individuals, placing 34th with a score of 248. 
• Logan Wiske finished at 258 while Jaxon McFarland posted a 271.

The Cardinals are back in action next week as they head to the Ichabod Invitational, hosted by Washburn University at the Topeka Country Club.
