SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The William Jewell Men's and Women's swimming teams competed at the Drury Invite this weekend. The Jewell men collected a third place finish with 651.5 points, while the women ended the two-day competition in second place amassing 778 points.

The Jewell relay teams made a statement by gathering 12 top-five finishes on the weekend, including a pair of first place victories. Laura Torres, Haylee Schapp, Sayler Roberts, and Maddie Atwood started the invitational with winning the 200 yard freestyle at a time of 1:39.60. Meanwhile, in the 400 yard freestyle a team comprised of Jacob Berkheimer, Connor Sawyer, Collin Geurts, and Casey Bach captured Jewell's second relay victory of the weekend with a time of 3:04.02. Individually, Martina Torrent had the lone first place finish for the Cardinals in the 100 breast (1:04.86), one of her three top-five placements.
