PITTSBURG, Kan. - The William Jewell track and field teams traveled south to the Crimson & Gold Invite on Saturday, hosted by Pittsburg State. The Cardinals were led by sophomores
Bradan Dickinson and
Caroline Mayes who set new school records in the weight throw and 60 meters, respectively.
Dickinson became the first Jewell thrower to break 17 meters in the men's weight throw, posting a toss of 17.04 meters to break Alec Whiteside's 2016 mark of 16.83. Meanwhile Mayes tied her older sister Gretchen's time in the 60 meters last weekend at 7.89 before running a 7.86 this week to become the sole record holder.
