INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The William Jewell softball team put up a challenge against the No. 6 ranked team in the nation but fell 8-0 and 5-2 on Sunday afternoon. The Cardinals fall to 18-14 overall and 1-5 in league play. 

GAME ONE: #6 UIndy 8, Jewell 0 (5 Inn.)
HOW IT HAPPENED

• UIndy scored four runs on three hits in the opening frame to take a quick lead and added two more in the second. 
• In the top of the fifth, Jewell put two in scoring position after a double from Addie Bell but two pop ups ended the rally. The Hounds scored two in the bottom half to take game one. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Jewell was limited to three hits from Bell, Sabrina Olmo and Alexa Almejo. 
• Olive Wood (6-4) received the loss in the circle, working three frames. 

GAME TWO: #6 UIndy 5, Jewell 2
HOW IT HAPPENED

• UIndy took the early lead again in game two, scoring one on three hits in the opening frame. 
• Jewell responded in the top of the third as Alemjo drove in two with a double to give the Cardinals the lead. 
• The Greyhounds knotted things up in the bottom half on a Jewell error before scoring three runs on three hits in the sixth to go back in front for good.  

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Kenzie Stahl led the Cardinals with two hits and a run scored. 
• Almejo, Abby Vandiver and Amanda Chung each had a double. 
• Avrey Reynolds (9-7) suffered the loss, tossing all seven innings, allowing five earned on eight hits and striking out four.
