LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell volleyball team took on Lewis University on Friday evening on Senior Day, falling to the Flyers 3-0. The Cardinals drop to 4-20 overall and 0-10 in conference play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Flyers went in front 7-2 in the opener, forcing an early Jewell timeout, but kills from Emma Lea Benney and Sarah Madsen helped close the gap. After trading points, Lewis closed the set on a 6-3 run to win 25-17.
• Jewell played even with the Flyers for most of the second set, trailing by just two after a Benney kill and back-to-back Lewis errors. Three straight points allowed the Flyers to escape with the 25-19 win. 
• After Lewis jumped in front 5-0 in set three, the Cardinals rallied back scoring five straight on kills from Benney and Macy Bartlett to knot things up. With Jewell trailing by just one midway through, Lewis finished on a 7-0 run to close the match 25-15. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• The Cardinals hit .140 on the match, led by Bartlett's eight kills. 
• Reaghan Bible handed out 21 assists while Benney finished with a team high 13 digs. 
• Emily Brannan posted two blocks.
