OWASSO, Okla. - The William Jewell men's and women's golf teams opened the spring season on Monday and Tuesday at the Hillcat Classic, hosted by Rogers State University. The Cardinal men finished sixth overall with a team score of 878, tied for the best 54-hole performance of the NCAA era, while the women were fifth at 645.
MEN'S LINEUP
- Bryson Oots, ranked No. 55 in Division II, tied for eighth with a score of 214, which is fifth best in the NCAA era. The junior had a round two score of 66, tying his own NCAA era record for a single 18-hole round.
- Robin Persson finished tied for 14th overall at 217, the eighth best 54-hole score of the NCAA era.
- Kade Richman was 29th in the field at 226 with a opening round score of 72 while Isac Fredriksson was just behind in a tie for 30th at 227.
- Scotty Jolly was among the top-40 with a score of 230, finishing strong with a round three at 74 with Victor Cascio picking up a three-round total of 249.
WOMEN'S LINEUP
- Lily Frazier led the Cardinal women in 13th place overall with two-round score of 153, including a 73 on day two.
- Madelyn Luttjohann finished in 23rd with back-to-back 80s while Abby Wolff following at 169.
- Brylie Ellis was 35th in the field, improving by eight strokes in round two to finish with a 170.
- Scotlynn Blackington posted a score of 184, including an 82 in round one.

The men's team is back in action on March 20-21 at the Capra Invitational in Spring Hill, Kan. while the women return to the links on March 17-18 at the Midwest Intercollegiate in Warrensburg, Mo.
