SPRING HILL, Kan. - The William Jewell men's golf team won their first tournament since September 2023 at the Capra Invitational at Sycamore Ridge hosted by Rockhurst University on Friday.
The two-stroke win over GLVC feathered-foes Quincy and Rockhurst included a pair of second-place finishers in
Bryson Oots and
Robin Persson, while collectively the Jewell men had six top-20 finishers.
MEN'S LINEUP
- Oots and Perrson picked up a second-place finish, each scoring a 149 for +5.
- After shooting a 76 on Thursday, Isac Fredriksson shot a 77 Friday to earn a sixth-place finish, the same as senior Scotty Jolly.
- Three birdies over the two rounds gave freshman Cooper Newkirk a 14th place ender, while Victor Cascio shot +14 to round out the six top-20 Cardinal finishers.
- Carson Lee shot a 161, good for 29th. Kade Richman eagled in the first round en route to shooting 164.
- Carson Thompson and Drew Munson shot +25 and +45 respectively to round out the Jewell lineups.
