WHEATON, Ill. - The William Jewell men's golf team collected their second outright win of the season. Leading the field was
Bryson Oots received first place medalist honors for his third tournament victory of the year. After shooting a 70 on the first day, he followed up with a 73 to win by four strokes.
Tied with Davenport University at +24 at the end of the second round, a review of scorecards determined the Panthers were actually one stroke behind the Cardinals – giving Jewell the outright tournament win.
MEN'S LINEUP
- Shooting a 143, Oots won the individual competition for his fifth career collegiate victory.
- For the third straight tournament Robin Persson tied for fifth or better, tying for fifth with a score of 149, cutting seven strokes off his day one score of 78 in the second round.
- Isac Fredriksson tied for 11th, shooting a 78-72 for a 151 total.
- Sophomore Carson Lee shaved six strokes off between days ending with a 156.
- Also improving between days was Scotty Jolly who shot an 80 on day two.
