SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The William Jewell softball team dropped a pair of games on Friday afternoon at Illinois Springfield by final scores of 8-0 and 11-0. The Cardinals fall to 22-24 overall and 9-15 in conference play. 

GAME ONE: UIS 8, Jewell 0 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• UIS used aggressive base running in the opening inning to plate three early runs and take the lead. 
• The Stars added four runs in the third and another in the bottom of the fifth to take game one, 8-0. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Amanda Chung, Addie Bell, and Sydney Cure each had one hit for the Cardinals. 
• Sydney Parra (11-6) takes the loss in the circle, working 4.2 frames, allowing eight earned runs. 

GAME TWO: UIS 11, Jewell 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Prairie Stars scored one run in the first and second innings. In the third, UIS took advantage of seven hits and three Jewell errors to add six more and rolled to the 11-0 win. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Chung, Alexa Almejo, and Mikayla Chairez each had a hit for Jewell, with the latter having a double. 
• Olivia Wood (4-6) suffered the loss allowing five earned runs.

Jewell will travel to Central Missouri on Wednesday for their final non-conference outing of the season.
