ST. LOUIS. – The William Jewell men's continued conference action with an afternoon matchup against Maryville, with the Saints taking the game by a score or 2-0. Jewell is 2-3-0 after the loss with a 1-1-0 GLVC record.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• While the Saints took seven shots to Jewell's one in the first half, teams went into the intermission tied at zero.
• Two quick goals gave the Saints a 2-0 lead by the 49'. Back-to-back shots by Kaleb Fannin and Mathew Drinkhouse nearly got the Cardinals back in it, but the latter's shot on goal was stopped by the Maryville keeper.

 
KEY STATS

• Umberto DiCarlo stood in the goal for 67', allowing two goals and having three saves. Aldo Bryant played for 23' and had a lone save.
• Rani Hadid led the way with 79 minutes played.

 

The Cardinals are back in action on Sunday when they make the short drive to Lebanon, Illinois for a match against the McKendree Bearcats.
