SMITHVILLE, Mo. – The William Jewell men's golf team finished second in their home event, The Kansas City Cup, on Tuesday. After a sunny Monday that saw 36 holes played, Tuesday's 18 holes were cancelled due to rain in the region.
MEN'S LINEUP
- In only his second collegiate event, freshman Jay Choi finished in fourth place after posting a 151, good for +7.
- A pair of Cardinals were only one stroke behind Choi, fellow freshman Ivan Bravo De Laguna Juez and Kade Richman both were at +8, with the latter posting a four-birdie performance in the second round with a 71 – good for one under.
- Cooper Newkirk finished tied for 12th, with a 159 stroke performance.
- Drew Munson and Carson Thompson finished back-to-back in 17th and 18th places, with the former posting a 165, while Thompson was one stroke more at +22.

The Cardinals will travel back to St. Louis to partake in an event hosted by UMSL at the Rock Hollow Golf Club September 29-30.
