SMITHVILLE, Mo. – The William Jewell women's golf team opened their 2025-2026 season at their home event, The Kansas City Cup, on Tuesday finishing in fifth place. After playing 36 holes on Monday, rain cancelled the 18 holes planned for Tuesday.
WOMEN'S LINEUP
- Brylie Ellis led the way, finishing tied for 12th with a +13 through 36 holes.
- Senior Lily Frazier was close behind in 15th, shooting an 80 and then 81.
- Katie Cailteux finished 18th, while Kate Martorana tied for 25th playing as an independent.
- Shooting a pair of 88's was Scotlynn Blackington, good to finish tied for 27th place.
- Katie Geiss and Natalie Schmidtberger rounded out the Cardinal women, each of which shot better in round two by four and seven strokes, respectfully.
UP NEXT
Cardinals will hit the road in next week, traveling to Newton, Kansas for the Newman Invitational hosted by Newman University.
