Box Score KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The William Jewell men's soccer team opened up their 2015 campaign on Saturday night with a non-conference bout against crosstown foe Rockhurst University with the Hawks getting the 4-1 win.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Ten minutes after a Rockhurst goal to go up 1-0, a left cross from Kaleb Fannin set up Kanosh Abdulameer for a goal to tie the game at 1-1 in the 22'.
• Jewell would only tally one more shot, also by Abdulameer, as the teams would head into halftime with a 2-1 Rockhurst lead. 
• Senior Alexis Ibarra took the only two Cardinal shots in the second half as Jewell would drop their home opener, 4-1.

 
KEY STATS

• Umberto DiCarlo started the first half in goal for Jewell, recording one save with two goals allowed while freshman Aldo Bryant played the entire second half recording the same stat line.
• Abdulameer had three shots to top the Cardinals, while Ibarra had two and a trio of Cards had one.
• Freshman Rani Hadid led the team with 83 minutes played in the first start for the Meilya, Isreal native.

 

The Cardinals will be on the road come Tuesday when they face the Newman Jets for a 6:00 PM kickoff.
