ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The William Jewell women's basketball team outscored Lewis University in the fourth quarter but fell 73-55 on Saturday afternoon to drop to 0-15 and 0-9 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Cardinals started strong, trailing by just two after a jumper fro Taryn Jacobs late in the first quarter. Lewis used a 24-4 run over the next 11-plus minutes to open up a 22-point advantage. Jewell got baskets from Jacobs and Syderah Farmer to cut the deficit to 37-19 at the intermission. 
• In the third quarter, the Cardinals shot 50% paced by Alex McGarrah's eight points, but Lewis was even better at 62.5% to expand their lead to as many as 29 heading into the final frame. 
• Jewell won the fourth frame, 20-13, led by four points a piece from Farmer and Jacee Peterson, to get back within 18 but could get no closer. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• In their high offensive outing since early December, Jewell put three players in double-figures as McGarrah was tops with 16 while Farmer and Jacobs each added 10. 
• Jacobs also led the team with seven rebounds while she and Farmer picked up three steals.
