Kietzman Named Head Dance Coach

LIBERTY, Mo. – William Jewell College has announced the hiring of Liz Kietzman as the head coach of the Cardinal dance program, effective March 11. Dance, alongside cheerleading, will move under the Athletics umbrella in 2026-2027, after being primarily a student organization in recent years.

"We are excited to welcome Liz to the Jewell family," said Vice President for Marketing and Enrollment, Eric Blair, '01. "Her background in collegiate coaching, professional performance, and program promotion makes her an outstanding leader for our dance team. She understands the importance of creating an energetic game-day atmosphere while mentoring student-athletes to succeed both on and off the floor."

Kietzman comes to the Cardinals from Northwest Missouri State where she served as the head coach of the Bearcat Steppers for three years. During her time with Northwest Missouri, she oversaw all aspects of the program including recruiting, choreography, fundraising, and student-athlete success. Prior to her time at the collegiate level, she spent five years as the head coach at North Kansas City High School.

In addition to a strong coaching background, Kietzman brings significant professional performance experience to the program after serving as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleaders for seven seasons, after which she was part of the alumni coaching staff from 2014-2018.

"It's a privilege to step into this role and help shape the future of the William Jewell dance team," said Kietzman. "I'm excited to build a culture where athletes thrive, the program continues to grow, and alumni feel proud of the legacy being carried forward."

She earned her bachelor's degree in public relations with an emphasis in event planning from Northwest Missouri State.
