LIBERTY, Mo. - The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Among the honorees are six student-athletes from William Jewell, including four men's players,
Kanukayi Gudza,
Ashton Jermain,
Bradley Lightbourne, and
Justice Sutton, along with
Maja Komaszynska and
Syderah Farmer for the Cardinal women. This is the first such honor for five of the six with Gudza earning his second career award. In total, the Great Lakes Valley Conference had 39 recognitions on the women's side and 24 for the men.
To be eligible for consideration, student-athletes must have a minimum grade point average of 3.50 while playing in 90% of the team's contests or starting at least 66%.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot with Sutton selected to advance based on his combined academic and athletic performance. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 14 (men) and April 15 (women).
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
