LIBERTY, Mo - The William Jewell women's lacrosse team dropped their final non-conference match-up of the season against the NAIA No. 1 Benedictine College (Kan.) Ravens Wednesday evening, 10-18. Jewell is 1-6 heading into GLVC action.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• After the Ravens scored first Jewell netted three goals in the first seven minutes to take a 3-1 lead, including two from Kuepper Trinkel. After Benedictine answered with a 3-0 run senior Toryn Podschwit knotted the game up at four-all at the end of the first quarter.
• Down 9-5 out of halftime Podschwit scored her third goal of the game, while Evan Strain scored a goal with five minutes left in the quarter to make it 12-7.
• Trinkel scored back-to-back goals to open up the fourth quarter but it was not enough as the Cardinals fell to the defending NAIA National Champions 18-10.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Claire Eastwood made her second start of the season in goal, being relieved by Brynn Devers in the fourth quarter.
• Podschwit and Trinkel each recorded four goals, with the latter notching an assist.
