LIBERTY, Mo – Taking on the No. 25 ranked Rockhurst University Hawks on Saturday afternoon, the William Jewell women's lacrosse team fell 16-5 as GLVC action continues. With the loss Jewell is 1-8 on the year and 0-2 within the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cardinals held the Hawks to four goals in the first quarter before Elle Eastwood scored her 12th goal of the year 90 seconds into the second quarter for the first Jewell goal to make it 4-1.
- Coming out of halftime down 10-1 Ella Childress was the first Cardinal to find the back of the net and four minutes later Sara Polovina scored her first goal of the year with the help from Miranda Menousek to make it 12-3.
- Jewell scored twice more in the third quarter, from Menousek and Eastwood, but could come no closer and ultimately fell 16-5.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Claire Eastwood got the start in goal, playing 26 minutes and collecting four saves. Brynn Devers finished the game tallying nine saves in 34 minutes.
- While the Cardinals had six more groundballs and one more turnover caused than Rockhurst, the Hawks controlled the draw 21 times to just twice by the Cardinals.

Jewell begins the first of four road contests in the month of April, first with Missouri Western on Friday.
