Miners Get Best of Cardinals in GLVC Action

LIBERTY, Mo. – The William Jewell women's soccer team fell 2-0 to Missouri S&T on Wednesday, dropping to 0-5-0 overall and 0-2-0 in GLVC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Missouri S&T opened the scoring in the 11' off an assisted finish to take a 1-0 lead.
  • The visiting Miners doubled its advantage in the 42', going into halftime up 2-0.
  • The second half was scoreless, with Jenna Skeeters turning away every shot she faced over the final 45 minutes to keep the final at 2-0 Miners

KEY STATS

  • Skeeters finished with 12 saves in goal for the Cardinals
  • Missouri S&T out-shot Jewell 21-4, with a 14-3 edge in shots on goal.
  • Missouri S&T won the corner-kick battle, 9-3.
