TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – The William Jewell women's golf team wrapped up play at the NSU Women's Classic on Monday, finishing 11th out of 12 teams at a tournament hosted by Northeastern State. Jewell posted a two-round team total of +103. Rogers State won the team title at +22, with Oklahoma Baptist's Morgan Simmons taking medalist honors at 3-under. It was the first tournament of the season for the women.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Scotlynn Blackington paced the Cardinals, tying for 30th individually at +16 (10-6) — the low counting score in both rounds.
• Kate Cailteux carded a 9-over 15-over for a +24 total, good for 50th.
• Kate Martorana finished T56 at +29 (10-19), and Natalie Schmidtberger placed 61st at +34 (15-19).
• Katie Geiss rounded out the Jewell lineup at +59 (31-28).

UP NEXT
Jewell will compete at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex, their home course, next Monday when they host the KC Cup in Smithville, Missouri.
