Hawks Down Cardinals, 4-0 In Quincy

QUINCY, Ill. – The William Jewell women's soccer team fell 4-0 to Quincy University on Saturday morning at Jack Mackenzie Field. Jewell is now 0-8-1 overall and 0-5-1 in GLVC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Quincy opened the scoring in the 22' to take an early lead
  • Ten minutes later, the Hawks added another goal in the 33' to make it 2-0.
  • The Hawks converted a penalty kick in the 41' and took a 3-0 lead into halftime.
  • Quincy added a fourth goal in the 50', but the Cardinals came out with more energy in the second half, putting all nine of their shots on the day after the break. Bella Hileman, Jessica Baker, Maddy Follmer and Isabella Vaz each tested the Quincy keeper, but Jewell couldn't find the back of the net.

KEY STATS

  • Jenna Skeeters played all 90 minutes in goal and made nine saves, giving her 21 saves over Jewell's two games this week.
  • Jewell was out-shot 27-to-9, with Quincy holding a 14-4 edge in shots on goal and a 13-2 advantage in corners.
